"The whole concept of developing day to day relationships is what I call 'tingly stuff' in that it is a basic human need to let people make the most of themselves (as opposed to get the most out of people)."

"Towards a Coaching Culture is a fantastic resource for management teams, HR professionals, people studying for a coaching qualification, practising coaches and others who are exploring the idea of implementing coaching into their organisations. It has been invaluable for my students on the Institute of Leadership & Management Coaching and Mentoring qualification. I highly recommend the resources which are priced at a fraction of their value."

What does a coaching culture achieve?
- It makes the most of the organisation's resources by using in-house talent and coaching capability.
- It boosts performance on an individual by individual basis by focusing on personal behaviour and attitude as well as knowledge and skills.
- People recognise the value of their distinctive contribution and so engage more with the organisational goals and the part they play in achieving them.
- It frees up management time as people give more attention to resolving issues than raising them.
- It enables managers to listen more carefully and pick up on potential areas of trouble with individuals or teams.
- It encourages managers to be more effective so they pass on important information more effectively, head off stress, defuse issues, build confidence and similar.
- Too many organisations overlook the talent and potential of their employees. This means that people may be less motivated than they could be, deliver less to the organisation than they might, and may even disengage altogether.
- People entering the workforce are increasingly used to personal recognition and to having their learning and personality styles recognised, valued and adapted to. A coaching culture takes account of this.
- It allows for the valuable differences between people rather than glosses over the differences that are often at the root of difficult relationships in the workplace.
